Halloween and my homemade fursuit - DrG, Kathy Gerbasi, Ph.D.
Halloween and my homemade fursuit
So the college had a Halloween party the night before Halloween for little kids and I had acquired really nice very red foot pj's to go with my fox ears, tail and paws and nose/snout. So I put on the pj's stuffed them with pillow stuffing, added some white fuzzy hair for my head and attended the party. I tried not to talk and lots of people did not know who I was.
1) it was fun
2) I did things like dance around that I would never have done otherwise
3) mimed
4) fell in the leaves with the kids
5) played balloon ball with kids
and got REALLY REALLY HOT!!!!!!! after an hour my face was the red color of the fox tail!

Some kids loved it and a few were afraid...interesting huh?

Sounds like you had a fun time! I've always been intriqued by the fact that some kids are afraid and others love it.

I like how the first observation listed, is the first observation listed. :) Glad that it went well.

Oops, accidentally replied to your latest journal on my art account instead of this one.

As a fursuiter myself, I do not personally follow the "no talking" rule, even though the jaw on my suit is fixed/static. If I want to talk, then damn it, I'm going to talk! LOL Plus, that is the fun of my character(s). They have adorable British accents. Just because a few snobby fursuiters created rules does not mean you have to follow them. Express yourself however you want to!

And yes, fursuits are definitely very hot! I can only suit for about 30 minutes before I get too tired.

I find it interesting that you would do things you would not otherwise do in a fursuit. Why do you feel so free to do 'silly' things when others don't know who you are or your perception is that they don't know who you are?
